Whether it’s the most recent Bollywood film or the bevy stars and designer pages on Instagram, you’ll notice the off-shoulder look has taken off and it is here to stay for a while we say. It first started to appear on international runways, and Manish Malhotra’s 2015 collection was spotted picking up the look and now it’s bigger than ever.

Not that it’s a first but now you’ll see the look on sarees, lehengas, ghararas, shararas and indo-western gowns it’s happening. Here’s a look at some amazing off-shoulder looks from the Indian fashion scene to inspire you.

Today we see ourselves in a world that is continuously fusing together. The traditional seeks the modern, and vice versa. The off-shoulder look gives us an opportunity to be a little modern and show off a wonderful neck-line which suits almost any girl, yet allows us to channel our feminine, elegance and sophistication when done right. For Indian wear, it’s a wonderful look that allows the modern woman to express herself through her ethnic attire.

The Off-shoulder lehenga look This stunning Manish Malhotra is a heavily zardozi embroidered in lehenga, teamed with a plain off shoulder choli making it quite the modern number.

Relatively new designer Astha Narang brings the whimsical light and delicate-embroidered kurta, and complements it with a whimsical and airy gorgette lehenga-skirt.

Designers Shyamal and Bhumika have taken their current signature looks of bouffant lehegengas, with sporadic floral embroidery and teaming it with a classic fully-embellished off-shoulder choli with a folded neck-line.

Designer Arpita Mehta is known for her mirror work, here we have a stunning fully embellished mirror-work off-shoulder choli. The neutral colour means you could use the choli with a plain saree or another lehenga.

Bridal lehenga fashion always expresses itself by reflecting on the times, so it’s no surprise they’re also offering options with off-shoulder choli’s and blouses.

Alia Bhatt in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla showcasing a bridal wear range lehenga, with the season’s hottest double-trend off-shoulder choli with cape-sleeves!

Bollywood actresses AishwaryaRaiBachchan and Sonam Kapoor sport elegant looks with off-shoulder blouses for their sarees respectively.

At Silk & Sparkle we love to stay up to date with what’s in style and what our clients are looking for.
