In this month’s blog we bring you the most asked questions to us – “how shall I drape my dupatta with a lehenga”. Some want it comfortable, some want it sassy and some want the best of both worlds. Well, that’s fair! When a woman invests so much time, energy and effort in finding the right outfit, perfect jewellery and then make-up to go with it, then why ignore the dupatta.

We have curated fourteen different styles of draping a dupatta for you. While brides get an army of stylists to get them ready so they manage to pull off the best but what about bridesmaids. Worry not! We are here to your rescue. Let’s go!

  • Sheer Fall

This style of dupatta looks the best with sheer dupattas and when the choli is a bit revealing. In that case it’s like you want the stylish blouse to be seen yet covered. You know what we mean, right? Having it all covered yet visible.

  • Two Pins and Let Loose

Two safety pins are all you need to get this style. Let the dupatta stay open but secure it on one shoulder(whichever side you feel more comfortable). Take another pin and secure both the ends of the dupatta on the back side of the lehenga on the belt.

  • Secure yet Sassy

This is definitely the most comfortable styling. You can freely move, dance, and groove in this draping style but only if the dupatta is not excessively long. One of our favourite styles for sure!

  • Sleek Semi-fall Style

It is similar to the previously shown style but a little different. While you take a pleats a little broader in the previous style, in this one you keep then not more than an 1-2 inch broad.

  • Secure with a belt

We are loving how belts have taken over the Indian fashion trends. They not only look sassy but also are the best way to secure dupattas around the waist. While more styles with belts are coming later here we have included only one shoulder style dupatta.

  • Choker Style

This style of dupatta draping is not getting old ever. This is definitely the most sassy yet comfortable style of wearing a dupatta. This style requires oodles of confidence to pull off. The best part is you require less jewellery with this style as the neck area is already covered.

  • Saree Pallu Style

This style looks the best with broad and long dupattas as it has to be drappred all around the lehenga skirt to come on the shoulder like a pallu.

  • Cape and belt-it-up

Wear the dupatta around the shoulder like a cloak and belt it up around the waist. It not only looks stylish but also feels very comfortable as gives you enough room to move your hands and move freely.

  • Cloak Style Dupatta

All you have to do is wear it on your shoulders like a cape and secure it with pins on both the shoulders.

  • Old-school V-neck Dupatta

It may be one of the old styles of wearing a dupatta yet it looks classy especially with net or organza dupattas.

  • Wrap around wrist

No matter how you style your dupatta, having it wrapped around the wrist looks different yet stylish. It also hold your dupatta in one place and doesn’t let it fall.

  •  Let it fall free from one shoulder

One pin is all it takes to get this look. We would not suggest to try this style if the dupatta is really long as it will keep mopping the floor and make you or the other person trip.

  • Hold it around your elbows

This style looks sassy with a fusion style lehengas. Ruffled dupattas look absolutely gorgeous in this style.

  •  Alia Bhatt Style

This style looks super elegant and poised. In case your dupatta is embellished or has a rich design then this style will justify the design completely.
