Whenever we head out for wedding shopping or enter a store, we end up falling for the same set of three-four colours that are already present in our wardrobe. The colour wheel is full of endless colours then why we only see the repeating set of colours. We’ll tell you why!

 

The readymade stores usually have one pattern in three to four colours that are actually the most popular in the Indian wear space. That is why after the fourth or fifth buy, you repeat the colour in your collection no matter how much you try to avoid it.

• Chartreuse or Lime Green
  

This colour is the hot favourite of top Indian designers to the likes of Sabyasachi Mukherji and Manish Malhotra. No matter how embellished the handwork is or what the fabric is, you’ll look like a slayer.  

• Deep, Dark Shades – Black and others

When we say black, we don’t mean gothic. Black and deeper shades are not prefered much by the family or the close ones for the wedding. But, you are a friend. You have all the right to pick such not-so-right colours. Keep your make-up muted or subtle if you don’t wanna give gothic vibes. 

• Look Slayer Queen in Tangerine

No, not Orange, not Gerua, not Saffron. Tangerine is a bit subtler than all the previously mentioned colours. A little on the side of brown with a lesser vibrance.   

• Nudes and the shades of white

For the people who like making statements without going OTT (over the top), nude shades and the family of white is your area. When we think of big fat Indian weddings, we end up visualizing colours, vibrance, embellishments and whatnot. But, Indian weddings have a soft and secure place for elegance, grace and class. That’s where nudes, whites, ivories fall. 

• Honey, Butter and Mustard

Cooking the most fabulous outfits of the season in the ravishing shades of yellow. When we think of Indian weddings, yellow is a must-have colour. But why limit it to just haldi. Experiment with the refreshing shades of yellow for other functions too. 

• Go for Lavenders and Lilacs, Ladies

This cool family of purple is a perfect match for any woman, irrespective of her skin tone, height or size. This colour was a rage amongst brides last season, now bridesmaids are also opting for lavender and lilacs unabashedly. 

• AwwwOmbre

Ombre is not a colour but a pattern that creates a balance between two shades. It can be between two complementary colours, between the different shades of the same hue or with blacks and whites. Leave an awesome impact at your BFFs wedding with your choice of ombre outfits.
