Sarees – The Evergreen Saga of Indian Fashion

The evergreen saree has a special place in the world of Indian Fashion. It’s not only popular with the older generation but also quite trendy amongst contemporary young women. In fact, it has marked its presence from Filmfare to Cannes and Oscars. Indian famous celebrities to the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have represented India on international platforms wearing saree.

They are nothing but the designer sarees that are in tune with modern women. They are designed, coloured and packaged to target the modern women only- Saris that have a scope of experiment, saris that compliment modern styles of blouses. The cotton sarees have made their niche market among young women.

From dhoti style draping to half wrap-around to traditional draping contemporary saree style is all about flexibility and practicality. Deepika Padukone’s innumerable saree appearances have made have added that sassy element to this style of fashion.
